Christmas definitely approaching

Well it is now only two weeks until Christmas Eve, so I think even I will start thinking about it, having successfully avoided doing so for quite a while now...

So today I have put up some outdoor lights to cheer up the otherwise fairly dire gloom that befalls Northern Europe at this time of year. Most of the lovely snow we had last week is gone again (although there are rumours there is more to come next week). While snow has a seriously deleterious effect on transport facilities (not just in Britain - although it does seem to be particularly bad here) it does brighten things up a bit, which is always welcome for an old Scandinavian with a hint of SAD syndrome...

The Baedeker market on eBay seems to be running quite well at the moment, though I haven't spotted any great surprises or rarities recently. So get your wishes in early, so Santa has a chance to source them...
