tripwolf.com

Have just discovered a new and "web 2.0"-ish website about travel: www.tripwolf.com. It looks quite good and, if it starts filling up with end-user input, might just have a chance of becoming a traveller's (whether real or armchair) first port of call on the web.*

The reason I mention it specially is because it is backed by MairDumont, the current owners of the Baedeker brand. They have, apparently, included their entire database of some 200,000 articles for free on the site...

Now what do you think old Karl B. would have thought of that?

*) Here's the official blurb about the site:
Tripwolf is a social travel guide and trip planner that allows users to “feel” a destination when trip planning, and adds social recommendations to the mix as well. Advice and recommendations are made by users who have traveled to each destination, or by locals, and socially each user can obtain highly personalized travel recommendations from friends, peers and like-minded travelers. Users can create new locations, upload and edit content, and then share their favorite places from around the world with friends.
