An early non-Baedeker

This book on eBay is not a Baedeker, but neither is it a "pseudo-Baedeker". It is Lewald's guide to Italy, from 1840 - it predates Baedeker's Italian guides, but it is interesting to see the similarities in style of printing, maps and plans etc.

The book looks in good order, but I suspect the binding is not original (the seller says it's "of the time").
